How To Hide Skin Imperfections In Your Bikini This Summer

Don’t fear the beach this summer! Follow these expert tips to have your skin glowing and flawless when you are in your bathing suit.

Problem: Stretch Marks.

How to camouflage them:

  • Purchase a good quality Self Tanner in a darker shade than you would use on your whole body (Try anything from the St.Tropez tanning collection in “Dark”)
  • Starting 24 hours before your beach debut, apply the dark tanner with a Q-Tip to your light stretch marks – be careful not to go outside of the white areas
  • 8-10 hours after your “stretch mark only” tanner application, apply your regular Self Tanner to your entire body. This will blend in the areas you covered previously with your Q-Tip for perfectly smooth skin coverage. Your stretch marks will be almost invisible!

Problem: Spider Veins

How to camouflage them:

  • On freshly cleansed, moisturized skin, apply a yellow or orange based concealer (preferably water-proof) directly overtop of your veins. These colours will counteract the purple/blue tinge associated with spider veins – leaving your skin looking flawless! Head into your closest Eccotique and let one of or skincare experts match you up with your perfect yellow/orange based Aveda shade for natural looking coverage.

Problem: Bumps and Bruises (from all those outdoorsy activities you have been doing!)

How to camouflage them:

  • Invest in a professional full body makeup for the summer, preferably one created for covering tattoos. These thicker formulas can be dabbed into the skin and set with powder for all day coverage without caking. 

Problem: Bikini Line Irritation and Razor Burn Bumps

How to camouflage them:

  • After your waxing or shaving session (wait a day to avoid stinging!), apply a topical solution to the affected area like PFB Vanish (available at Eccotique for $4.95-28.95 depending on the size) formatted to exfoliate the skin rapidly, aiding in removing ingrown hairs and irritation. This product contains Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid to “lift” ingrown hairs out of the follicle as well as Willow Bark to cure redness.

Here are some facts about these products:

Surf Foam Wash Shampoo: Bumble’s first ever styling shampoo and conditioner!

Minerals blend imparts light airy texture, body, softness: Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) imparts soft beachy texture, sodium chloride controls viscocity

Sea botanical blend: Sea fennel and kelp provide hydration, balance and moisture

 

Surf Crème Rinse Conditioner:

Conditioning blend: Cetearyl alchohol is a coconut derivative that delivers hydration and creaminess, lightweight detangling and static reduction

Mineral blend: magnesium sulfate and sodium chloride (texture, fullness)

Sea botanical blend: Sea fennel and kelp

When used together you will create the perfect base for beachy, textured hair (try air dried with NO styling products or just surf spray for easy wash and go hair!)

These are both colour safe

 

Surf Spray: kelp and seaweed extracts provide moisture, manageability and balance while sea salt imparts texture for anyone wanting beachy, windblown, sexy hair (beach hair in a bottle)

Use on wet or dry hair for volume, grip, matte effect, light hold and enhanced texture. Leave to air dry, diffuse or blowdry into the hair

 

Perfect recipe for beachy summer hair – After shampooing with NEW Surf Shampoo and Conditioner, apply a dime to quarter size amount of Bumble & Bumble grooming crème on damp hair. Work throughout then twist sections of hair and spray generously with Bumble Surf spray. Diffuse or air dry then tousle with your fingers. Add Invisible oil to ends to add shine and separation.
